About us

Hubellubo frubiends and welcome to the ZOOM shop! In 1972, GBH introduced ZOOM, a half-hour live-action educational television series for kids ages 8 to 12 that helped lay the foundation for GBH Kids programming today. A three-time Emmy award winner for Outstanding Children’s Series, ZOOM broke new ground in children’s television by featuring content sent in by kids, being virtually unscripted, and encouraging viewers to "turn off the TV and do it!" ZOOM quickly became one of the nation’s most successful non-commercial series and, over 7 seasons, captured the attention and hearts of kids who, until that time, had very few opportunities to see themselves and their life circumstances authentically represented. A second-generation re-boot aired from 1999-2005 continuing ZOOM’s action-packed vibe and inclusivity and inspiring a new generation of kids to ZOOM into action.

GBH Kids is one of the top producers for public media, creating educational content for kids, parents, caregivers and teachers, including iconic PBS Kids programs such as the award-winning Arthur and Molly of Denali, digital series such as Scribbles and Ink, games, apps and podcasts. GBH Kids, based in Boston, also works closely with PBS LearningMedia, providing digital curricula for more than 2 million teachers across all 50 states. GBH Kids is committed to equity and access to educational media and the healthy development of all children.  As the inventor of closed captioning and audio description, GBH is dedicated to making media accessible and inclusive.
